Russian Doll star's new movie Past Lives confirms UK release date
Russian Doll star Greta Lee's new film Past Lives has been given a UK release date, alongside a brand new trailer.
The film stars the actress as a woman named Nora who has a childhood romance with Teo Yoo's Hae Sung, until it is cut short when she has to move to Canada. They meet again decades later, where they reminisce about their time together, wonder about their future together and discuss whether their attraction would still exist if she never moved away.
Complicating matters is John Magaro's Arthur, who also has history with Nora.

When it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, it received a rare 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning that every critic who reviewed the film gave it a generally positive review. It has lost that score now, currently standing at *only* 97%.
Reviews praised director Celine Song's film for its nuanced and mature handling of relationships, regret, and that feeling of grieving for something that you never actually had in the first place.
"It’s hard to imagine Past Lives not being one of 2023’s most talked-about films, and it richly deserves the honor...," read one review, while another said that "Past Lives isn’t just the best film of this year's Sundance Film Festival, it also will likely go down as one of the best films of 2023."
More recently at the Cannes Film Festival, one film that made a strong impression was Natalie Portman's May December, which has now been picked up by Netflix.
Past Lives will be released in UK cinemas on September 8, and is currently playing in cinemas in the United States.
