At this point, most football fans have seen a picture of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson‘s mangled finger.

During the third quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, Wilson hit his hand on defensive lineman Aaron Donald. The quarterback reportedly tore a tendon on the middle finger of his throwing hand.

Late Friday night, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Wilson underwent surgery on his finger. Rapoport reported the surgery was “more complicated than expected” and now Wilson is expected to miss “roughly six weeks.”

Not long after that report, Ciara, Wilson’s wife, posted a message for the star quarterback from his bedside in the hospital.

“You’re the toughest Man I know,” Ciara said in the post. “Always dedicated and committed to do whatever it takes. I love you so much my Sweet King. Thank you Dr Shin and team for taking care of my baby.”

It’s good to see Ciara and Wilson in good spirits following his surgery.

Wilson has never missed a start during his NFL career, but that streak will be coming to an end next week. Seattle faces off against the Pittsburgh Steelers next weekend and Geno Smith will take the field as the Seahawks starting quarterback.

Seattle sits at 2-3 on the season and is in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs after Wilson’s tough injury news.
