RuPaul's Celebrity Lingo appears to have been cancelled after just one series.

The Drag Race icon debuted as host of the ITV Sunday night show last year, which is itself a spin-off of the daytime TV game show hosted by Adil Ray.

However, a representative for the series has revealed that there are no plans for a second run of Celebrity Lingo in the UK.

"We don’t yet have plans for a second series of Celebrity Lingo. However, another series of the daytime show hosted by Adil Ray is due to air later in the year, and the US series for CBS, which is hosted by RuPaul, has been renewed," they said (via Radio Times).

Celebrity Lingo sees two teams go head-to-head in a battle of words, and has seen famous faces such as Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor and Drag Race's Michelle Visage appear.

Speaking when the series was originally announced last year, RuPaul said: "Now, more than ever before, people want to have fun, and Celebrity Lingo is here to serve it up generously."

Fellow host Adil added: "I'm so grateful to everyone watching at home, the entire crew and our fab contestants for giving me another chance to host one of the best shows on TV! Even to those who shout four letter Lingos at me in the street! Welcome to the team, RuPaul!"

In other Drag Race hosting news, UK judge Alan Carr was recently confirmed to be hosting a new BBC game show called Picture Slam, which sees contestants tasked with identifying pictures for a cash prize.

"Who doesn't love a good quiz? When I found out the BBC wanted little old me to present Picture Slam I jumped at the chance!" Alan said. "I don't know if I would be any good at the quiz, but luckily I don't have to play it!"

Celebrity Lingo and Lingo air on ITV.
