Runoffs in Lake Worth Beach and Wellington will get voters back to the polls | Endorsement

The March 19 municipal elections have come and gone. No problems, no glitches, according to Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Wendy Sartory Link. But, the voting isn't over for everyone. On Tuesday, April 2, voters in Lake Worth Beach and Wellington get to return to their respective polling places to choose candidates for three seats.

In Lake Worth Beach, the contest for mayor resulted in a runoff election, as the incumbent Betty Resch failed to reach the 50%-plus threshold needed to win the race outright against one of her opponents, Andy Amoroso.

Wellington has two village council seats up for grabs. The Seat 1 race features Amanda Silvestri and Bob Margolis. (The Palm Beach Post initially endorsed John "Jay" Webber in the March 19 elections, but he failed to qualify for the runoff.) For the runoff, the Post is endorsing Margolis.) The Seat 4 runoff features Shelley L. Albright and Maria Antuna, the two highest vote-getters among five candidates seeking the seat.
