Runaway Bull Surprises Woman When It Shows up in Her California Backyard
Imagine walking into your backyard to enjoy a cup of coffee or a dip in the pool, only to discover a young bull trashing the place. That's what happened to an 87-year-old woman in California on August 11th, and she wasn't sure how to handle the situation. ABC News shared the wild video on Tuesday, August 13th, and you've got to see it to believe it!
The video starts with the bull standing near the pool's edge, seemingly trying to figure out what to do next. He then runs through the patio looking for a way out, destroying several pieces of the woman's pottery in the process. I don't think he wanted to be there anymore than the woman wanted him there!
Fortunately, ABC News said in their caption that the bull eventually left through a gate and went towards a field where men with lassos were waiting so they could catch him. No word on whether or not that ended up happening, but with no more bull stories about a stray bull running around hitting the news, I'm guessing that they finally did!
Commenters got a kick out of the video too. Some warned that the woman shouldn't have been out there with the young bull (which I agree with). @Lauren Franchesca Crisp joked, "Thats incredi-bull-y wild!" and another added, "That’s some bull." @April Bennard agreed and said, "Bull in a china store. OML!"

More About California's Runaway Bull
I really wondered how on earth the bull escaped from home in the first place. I did some digging and found more details at Storyful. They posted the video as well, and talked to the woman's son, Nick Alaga, who lives around the corner from her near Santa Cruz, California. He told Storyful that the closest cows were about a mile away from their homes and wasn't sure what to make of his mother's voicemail saying there was a "stray cow" in her backyard.
Alaga decided to head over and check it out, and that's when he realized it wasn't a cow he could sweet talk out of the backyard, but instead a potentially dangerous bull. The feisty bull finally headed towards a fenced field where men with lassos waited. The men had been chasing the for about five miles, caught it at some point during the chase, but he was able to break away from them again before landing in Alaga's mom's backyard.
Alaga had a good sense of humor about the experience and told Storyful, “Not sure if they ever caught him. Other than the broken pottery and me realizing I have no future as a matador, it was a pretty funny experience.” Great way to look at the bright side!
