Rubber contamination risk: Johnsonville recalls 35,430 pounds of turkey kielbasa

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced another recall.

Salm Partners, LLC, is recalling approximately 35,430 pounds of Johnsonville turkey kielbasa sausage that is possibly contaminated with foreign materials. The company specifically cites pieces of rubber.

The turkey kielbasa sausages affected are the 12-oz. vacuum-packed packages containing a single piece of "Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY" with sell by dates of "05/17/24" and "05/18/24" that bears an establishment number "P-32009" on the side of the packaging.

These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

There have been no confirmed reports of sickness or harm due to consumption of these products but the company did receive complaints from consumers reporting they found pieces of rubber in the ready-to-eat turkey kielbasa products.

The FSIS urges consumers who are worried about any health issues to contact a healthcare provider and recommend consumers who have purchased these products to throw them away or return to the place of purchase.

Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to MPHotline@usda.gov.
