Rowers pull together for cancer support in Jersey
Macmillan Jersey said it raised more than £20,000 on Saturday at its annual rowathon.
Teams of six rowed 30km (18.6 miles) on an indoor rowing machine at The Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel.
The charity said all the money raised from the event would go towards funding cancer support at the Lido Medical Centre.
Former Jersey Reds players Scott van Breda and Tim Grey took part, which Mr van Breda said was "really good fun".
He said: "To push that hard brings back the old dark days in the gym but it was really good fun and for a great cause, so it's all worth it today."
The 18 teams from companies and organisations in the island were tested against each other through a leader board.
Rosemary Satchwell and Julie Brady of Intrepid 232, the record-breaking team that completed an Atlantic row in February, were there to support the rowers.
Pulling together
Kevin Alway from Macmillan Jersey said: "The island-based businesses who provide their time and resources year-after-year to ensure the event runs smoothly, and the incredible uptake proves that people really do want to ‘pull together’ and help others here on our island."
