Roseanne Star Pays Tribute to the Late Glenn Quinn on Anniversary of Death
Roseanne vet Michael Fishman is paying tribute to his late co-star on the 21st anniversary of his tragic death.
Glenn Quinn, who for seven seasons played Becky’s boyfriend-turned-husband Mark Healy, died on Dec. 3, 2002 of an accidental overdose. He was 32 years old.
On Monday, Fishman (aka DJ Conner) posted a video tribute to Quinn, along with the following Irish blessing, to X and Threads:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand. pic.twitter.com/2GbyXNSYd2— Michael Fishman (@ReelMFishman) December 4, 2023
Though Mark’s death was referenced several times during Roseanne’s 2018 revival season — Darlene and David’s son was named in his honor — it was never revealed how Quinn’s character passed.
Three years later, in a Season 3 episode of The Conners, Becky explained that her teenage sweetheart died in a freak accident. When her roommate surmised that her stint in rehab was a part of God’s plan, the widow scoffed and said, “The last time [God] helped me, she threw a deer in front of my husband’s motorcycle and he died.”
What followed was a much-needed/cathartic discussion about Mark’s death between Becky and Dan — part of which you can watch above. (The episode earned Lecy Goranson TVLine accolades.)
Aside from his star-making turn on Roseanne, Quinn was best known for his role as half-demon Allen Francis Doyle in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spinoff Angel.
