Rolling rally info: North High champion basketball team to hold city celebration Saturday

WORCESTER — The celebration of North High's second straight state title will be held Saturday.

The rolling rally will cover Shrewsbury Street inbound, beginning about 1 p.m., with a ceremony slated for Worcester Common about 2 p.m.

The Beantown Betty duck boat and Worcester police cruisers will be part of the caravan.

Fans are encouraged to line the route to cheer on the two-time champions.

A similar rally was held a year ago, with the celebration capped with a ceremony at Polar Park.

North High, winners of 45 straight games, captured its most recent Division 1 crown on March 17, beating Franklin. A year ago, the Polar Bears upended Needham to earn top honors.
