If Rodney Steven can make it there . . .

Rodney Steven II and his Genesis Health Clubs have struck deals for new health clubs in yet another new state, and this time it’s a big one: New York.

The acquisitions of two Saw Mill Clubs in Mount Kisco, which is not quite 40 miles outside of Manhattan, bring the Genesis club total to 72 in 11 states.

“We’ve always wanted to have clubs in New York, and what an introduction to the state,” Steven said in a statement.

“Saw Mill club is a tennis and fitness institution in New York, and the health club industry in general.”

As of Thursday, the club names are changing to Genesis Health Clubs – Saw Mill Club and Genesis Health Clubs – Saw Mill Club East.

Genesis bills itself as “the largest and fastest-growing privately owned fitness provider in the United States” with clubs in Kansas, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky and Florida.

“We entered the region a few months ago with The Atlantic Club in New Jersey, and there is so much opportunity,” Steven’s statement said. “Stay tuned; you’ll be seeing a lot more from Genesis in the coming years and months!”
