Rodents invade Taco Cabana restaurant’s kitchen in Texas, TikTok video shows

A Taco Cabana restaurant in Texas had to briefly close after a viral TikTok video showed several rats in its kitchen, reports say.

“Don’t eat there,” TikTok user @ritalongg said in the Sunday, July 3, post, which showed rats on the floor of a Taco Cabana on Bandera Road in San Antonio.

Jokes about the Disney movie “Ratatouille” flew as commenters noticed some similarities in the video.

“Remy about to chef it up,” one commenter said in a reference to the movie’s main character.

“I see Remy and the gang but where that boy Linguini,” another person said.

But for Taco Cabana, it was no laughing matter. The restaurant said in a statement to multiple outlets that it “immediately closed” and underwent an inspection after rodents were observed.

Taco Cabana said in the statement it took care of the rodent infestation, according to KSAT. The restaurant reopened on Wednesday.

“The pests are confirmed to have recently migrated from an outside source within the previous 48 to 72 hours, as mandated third-party sanitation and Health Department inspections revealed no recent activity prior to July 3, 2022,” Taco Cabana told KTSA.
