Rockford-area's most expensive homes sold in December offer lots of land, snazzy features

The ten most expensive homes sold in December in the Rockford area ranged from $432,500 to $805,000.

Homes from Rockford, Belvidere, Rockton, Roscoe, Cherry Valley and Marengo cracked the list for December.

Here's a look at the top 10.

10. 5030 Regents Park, Rockford

This two-story home in the Regents Park neighborhood has hardwood floors, first floor laundry and an attached three-car garage. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. The formal living room and dining room can be separated by pocket doors. Five bedrooms and three full bathrooms upstairs. The master bedroom includes a private en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet.

The home was sold on Dec. 22 for $432,500. The property was listed by Toni VanderHeyden, Keller Williams Realty Signature.

9. 892 Tuneberg Drive, Belvidere

This two-story home on one acre boasts a movie theater and recreation rooms downstairs. There are three bedrooms and two-and-a-half-bathrooms in 3,401 square feet of living space. The kitchen features stainless-steel appliances. The home has a three-car garage. An inground pool and pergola are outside.

The property was listed by Julianna McCallum, Dickerson & Nieman. It sold for $436,300 on Dec. 1.

8. 12612 Quail Ridge Close, Rockton

This custom-built two-story home is situated on five wooded acres on a cul-de-sac. It features 2,800 square feet of living space plus an unfinished walk-out lower level. The open great room has a cathedral ceiling, arched windows, and a wood burning and gas lighter brick to the ceiling fireplace. The kitchen features dual pantry cabinets, stainless-steel appliances and access from the three-car garage. The main-floor primary suite includes whirlpool tub, separate shower, double sinks, cosmetic vanity and a walk-in closet. 7. 7356 West Ridge Lane, Cherry Valley

This custom-built, five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom home is on the second hole fairway of Newburg Village Golf Course. The home has only had owner and features a side-load three-car garage. Professional landscaping surrounding this home includes an irrigation system and LED landscaping lighting as well as custom covered patio, pergola, grilling kitchen and firepit overlooking the golf course. The kitchen has an island, pantry, double ovens, gas cooktop and views overlooking the golf course from the informal dining bay. There is a dedicated office set apart from the upper bedrooms. 5. 2120 Harlem Blvd., Rockford

This six-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home in the Edgewater neighborhood overlooks the Rock River. The two-story English Colonial home offers more than 5,300 square feet of living space and a three-car garage. The living room has a fireplace. The master suite features an en-suite bathroom, private sitting area, two walk-in closets and an additional fireplace. The home was built in 1946.

This home sold for $475,00 on Dec. 22. The property was listed by Kay Galloway and Keith Kelly, Dickerson Nieman.

4. 7949 Glenwood Drive, Roscoe

This custom-built three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom ranch-style home is on a .55-acre lot in The Reserve, Roscoe's newest subdivision, just north of the Ledges Golf course. The fully exposed unfinished walk-out lower level has a rough in for another bathroom. The custom kitchen features granite countertops, an island, undercabinet lighting and soft close doors and drawers. The home has a stone fireplace and three-and-a-half-car garage.

The property was listed by Douglas Page, Re/Max Property Source. The home sold for $524,900 on Dec. 1.

3. 10266 County Line Road, Marengo

This home is on the outskirts of Boone County. The property offers 15 acres with multiple pastures and paddocks. The main home was updated with a reconfigured kitchen with new flooring, stainless-steel appliances and quartz countertops. The home offers four bedrooms and two full baths. There are multiple outbuildings with 22 stalls, an indoor arena, an equipment shed and a garage that could accommodate four vehicles.

This was the third most expensive home sold in December at $650,00. It sold on Dec. 6 and was listed by Sabina Ephraim, Compass.

2. 1454 Tuneberg Parkway, Belvidere

This all-brick two-story custom-built home in Deer Woods has 5 to 6 bedrooms and four-and-a-half-bathrooms. The main floor features an office with direct access to a private porch. This home offers two staircases that lead to the basement and second floor. Bonus room over the garage. The fully exposed basement has a bedroom, full bathroom and kitchenette. The property features a three-car garage, cement driveway and circle drive. The home sits on just less than three acres of land.

The home sold on Dec. 6 for $660,000. The property was listed by Allison Bernardi, Dickerson & Nieman.

1. 956 Centerbridge Lane, Belvidere

This one-owner four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home is one of just seven homes in the gated community of Centerbridge Estates and has its own private stocked pond and a circle driveway. Enter the home to a grand double-sided staircase and two-story foyer. The family room has floor-to-ceiling stone surrounding the fireplace, cathedral beamed ceiling and walls of windows. The formal dining room has hardwood flooring. The main floor master bedroom features a double-sided fireplace, bathroom with granite countertop, separate tub and a walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. The gourmet kitchen has stainless-steel appliances, pantry, granite countertops, tile flooring, a center island with room for bar stools, tile backsplash and eating area. A three-season room with vaulted ceiling leads out to a patio area, firepit and walking path to an inground pool and pool house. The home sits on more than 4.5 acres.

This was the most expensive home sold in the Rockford area in December at $805,000. The home was sold on Dec. 15 and was listed by Julie Humpal and Katie Oehlberg, Re/Max Property Source.
