Rocket video has been online for years, doesn't show barrage from Yemen on April 13 | Fact check

The claim: Video shows Yemen attacking Israel on April 13

An April 13 Facebook video (direct link, archive link) shows what appears to be missiles deployed from the ground at night. An Iranian flag graphic is shown superimposed on the video.

"After the launch of suicide drones by #Iranians towards #ısrael, Yemen has also launched missiles at Israel," reads the caption on the video. "Tel Aviv is on high alert and Iron Dome is ready."

Other versions of the video also circulated, including an April 13 Instagram post with more than 500 likes.

Our rating: False

The video has circulated online for years and does not show events from April 13.

Old video unrelated to recent attack on Israel

On April 13, Iran attacked Israel with missiles and drones in retaliation for a suspected Israeli attack on an Iranian embassy in Syria. But the video in the social media post predated this event by years.

USA TODAY was not able to identify the origin of the launch video, but it has been online since at least 2016, when it was posted on a Russian YouTube channel.

The U.S. military reported shooting down Iranian and Yemeni missiles and drones that were aimed at Israel on April 13 and 14, according to Reuters.
