Rockawalkin Road stretch closed after serious crash with rollover

On Wednesday, May 22, at 10:55 p.m., Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS were dispatched to the 7100 block of Rockawalkin Road for a serious motor vehicle collision. Deputies arrived at the scene of the single-vehicle rollover and found the victim had been ejected from the vehicle and had life-threatening injuries. The victim was flown to a medical facility due to the severity of the trauma.

Due to the severe nature of the collision, the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit was called to investigate. Initial investigation revealed that the driver of a 2009 Nissan Altima lost control, left the roadway and rolled. The driver was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled. The driver was the only occupant of the Nissan.

Additional crash scene investigation will take place Thursdy morning. Beginning at 9 a.m., Rockawalkin Road will be closed between North Tourmaline Drive and South Tourmaline Drive. The road is expected to be open by noon.
