Foreigner, which was fronted by Gates native Lou Gramm, was nominated for the first time this year. With Gramm as its lead vocalist from 1976 to 1990, the rock band released platinum albums and hits, such as "Cold as Ice," "Urgent," "Juke Box Hero," "Waiting for a Girl Like You" and "I Want to Know What Love Is."

Creative differences led Gramm, a Gates Chili High School and Monroe Community College alum, to leave and then return to Foreigner, but he ultimately parted ways with the band in 2003. He now performs with his current band, the All Stars, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013, and the Rochester Music Hall of Fame in 2014.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2024 Induction Ceremony will once again be livestreamed on Disney+ and take place in Cleveland this fall. It will also air on ABC at a later date and be available on Hulu.
