Rochester Red Wings unveil Lilac Festival uniforms for home games

The Rochester Red Wings are getting some flower power.

Rochester unveiled its uniforms for six Lilac Festival themed "ROC the Lilac" home games May 14-19 at Innovative Field.

The Red Wings will wear light purple jerseys featuring a lilac petal floral pattern, with black sleeves and "ROC" and a lilac across the chest. A Flower City Rochester logo is embroidered on the left sleeve. The hats are black and lilac purple with a block "R" and lilac logo.

The Lilac Festival and Red Wings organization each began in the late 1800s.

The Red Wings will celebrate with the alternate uniforms along with merchandise, a replica jersey giveaway, promos and new menu items, including a lilac gin cocktail.

The Red Wings are playing six ROC the Lilac games in a home series against the Buffalo Bisons from May 14-19 at Innovative Field.
