These Rochester-area restaurants will be open for dinner and buffets on Thanksgiving

If you want to dine at a local restaurant on Thanksgiving, you're well advised to make a reservation well in advance, as times fill up quickly.

But if you find yourself without a place to go on Thanksgiving, you'll still have options, as many chain restaurants will be open and won't require reservations.

Here's a selection of Rochester-area restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving. Bear in mind that kitchen and wait staffs are giving up their own holidays to work, so generous tips would be appropriate.

Thanksgiving dinner buffets in Rochester area

Monroe’s, an Italian-American restaurant at 3001 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, will serve a buffet that will include a carving station with turkey, ham and beef tenderloin. It will also include many sides and desserts. Seatings begin at 11:45 a.m. and end at 6:15 p.m. The cost is $56 per person, $25 for children 12 and under, free for kids 5 and under. Red Fedele's Brook House, a spacious Italian restaurant at 920 Elmridge Center Dr. in Greece, will serve a buffet from noon to 5 p.m. It will feature turkey, prime rib, ham, traditional sides and apple or pumpkin pie. The Lake House on Canandaigua, an upscale hotel at 770 S. Main St. in Canandaigua, will serve a Thanksgiving buffet featuring classics like pumpkin bisque soup, sweet potato gratin and roasted organic turkey with sage walnut stuffing. Glenora Wine Cellars, 5435 State Route 14, Starkey, Yates County, will serve a buffet in its Veraisons restaurant. It will include sage and citrus turkey and ginger maple glazed ham. It will also serve a variety hot and cold selections; salads and soups; vegan and vegetarian options; and desserts. New York Kitchen, 800 S. Main St. in Canandaigua, Ontario County, will host a buffet in the New York Kitchen Café, fun by Best Beverage Catering. Turkey breast and beef tenderloin will be carved. It will also include starters, sides, desserts and nonalcoholic beverages. Seatings are at noon and 2:30 p.m. The cost is $55 for adults and $27.50 for ages 12 and under. Farmer's Creekside Tavern and Inn, in a historic building at 1 Main St., Le Roy, Genesee County, will serve a three-course menu with a choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert at a cost of $85 for adults and $25 for ages 12 and under. Seatings are at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. It also will offer family-style turkey dinners in its private outdoor igloos. They cost $100 to rent, plus $65 per person for the meal. D&R Depot, a homey restaurant in a former train depot at 63 Lake St., Le Roy, Genesee County, will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., serving a holiday menu that includes roast turkey, prime rib, vegetarian pot pie and more. Edgar's Restaurant at Belhurst Castle, a historic hotel at 4069 West Lake Road in Geneva, will serve a holiday menu from noon to 4 p.m. Among the choices will be a four-course turkey prix fixe dinner, including pumpkin curry bisque, autumn harvest salad, turkey and sides, a glass of wine and dessert ($52.95; $24.95 for ages 5 to 9). Nick’s Seabreeze Inn, a cozy Italian restaurant at 4581 Culver Road, Irondequoit, will serve a holiday menu including lamb chops, broiled wild salmon, shrimp scampi and more. Nucci's Italian Seafood and Steak House, 807 Ridge Road in Webster will be open from 2 to 8 p.m. It will offer turkey, ham and pork tenderloin specials at $28.99. In addition, it will serve a holiday menu, scaled down from its usual menu. Takeout will also be available; it must be called in by Nov. 20 and picked up by 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Chain restaurants open on Thanksgiving

Cracker Barrel, 2075 Hylan Drive, Henrietta, will offer a limited menu from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. It will offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal beginning at 11 a.m. You may use the app to check current wait times and add your name to the waitlist. Call (585) 321-3230.
