Robert Pattinson's new movie, Mickey 17, has been delayed indefinitely.

Warner Bros has undated the project, with the latest Godzilla movie — Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire — replacing its spot in the release schedule on March 29 (via Variety).

It has been revealed that Mickey 17's move was due to changes in production, following last year's SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. A new release date is expected to be announced soon.

The Batman actor has teamed up with Parasite and Snowpiercer director Bong Joon-ho for the highly anticipated film, which is loosely adapted from Edward Ashton's 2022 sci-fi novel, Mickey7.

While plot details for the film are being kept firmly under wraps, it is likely to take inspiration from the book's story arc. Mickey7 follows an expendable employee, who is sent on a human expedition to colonise the ice planet Niflheim (via Deadline).

"Whenever there's a mission that's too dangerous — even suicidal — the crew turns to Mickey7. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact," reads a synopsis.

"After six deaths, Mickey7 understands the terms of his deal... and why it was the only colonial position unfilled when he took it."

Pattinson will be joined by a star-studded cast for the blockbuster, which includes Star Wars' Naomi Ackie, Beef's Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Marvel star Mark Ruffalo.

In a recent conversation with comedian Jordan Firstman for Interview magazine, the actor openly discussed the worries that come with working in the industry.

"I'm constantly thinking that you're just going to spend the vast majority of your life unemployed and desperate and kind of feeling like you're a total failure," he said. "I think that's just what life is."

Mickey 17 doesn't have a release date yet.
