Road to State: Get Athens-area high school baseball state playoffs schedules here

High school baseball playoffs are upon us in the Athens area.

Reigning state champion Prince Avenue Christian and Athens Christian succeeded in claiming the 1-seed in their respective regions, while Commerce and Oglethorpe County saddle up in the Class A-Division I brackets as well. Apalachee claimed a 1-seed for 6A, Jefferson earned a 2-seed in 5A and the remainder of eligible Athens-area teams are 3-seeds, including reigning state champion North Oconee.

The opening rounds begin Tuesday, April 23 and extend until Thursday, April 25.

The GHSA championships will be held on May 16-21 at three different locations across the state — Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers for classes 5A, 6A and 7A; Advent Health Stadium, home of the Rome Emperors for classes 3A and 4A; and JI Clements Field, at Georgia Southern for classes A-I, A-II and 2A.
