Riverdale star Hayley Law's new thriller movie Door Mouse has released a first look trailer and confirmed a UK digital download release date of July 10.

Audiences got their first glimpse of the actress in her new role in a gruesome first-look trailer. Law plays Mouse, a "comic book artist by day and burlesque dancer by night", who is drawn into a dark underworld whilst trying to uncover the truth around her friend's mysterious disappearance.

The trailer begins with a group of suited and booted individuals, disguised in masks, present at what appears to be a human auction.

"Ladies and Gentlemen," comes an announcement, as human slaves are ferried in chains to the front of a stage and bid on. Cue a grisly scream and black-out.

Next appears Law as Mouse, picking up her wages after another performance at her seedy burlesque club. She departs for the night, but is forced to return early the next morning to the club (now surrounded by cop cars) - and it's not good news.

"Mouse, they snatched Riz," her boss tells her, a friend and fellow performer at the burlesque haunt.

"When people like us show up dead, no-one bats an eyelash," a distraught Mouse muses in voiceover.

Mouse makes it her mission to find out what happened to her friend, who it turns out isn't the only club worker who's disappeared lately.

"One got snatched from her home and another got grabbed at an alley," she explains to a confidant, who replies: "These are dangerous questions you're asking."

Her quest for answers sees her trek down train tracks, seek out dive bars and explore bleak mansions. "You're poking your nose in dangerous places," Mouse is told.

"Yeah but if I don't do it, who's going to," she says. "I had to make a record of what these monsters were doing. Sometimes with your back against the wall you drive as you play."

Mouse is then abducted down an alley and set to face a similar fate as her long-lost friends.

Bag removed, she finds herself on a sofa greeted by the mysterious masked people. "You only wanted a nibble, but it looks like you got the whole wheel of cheese. Didn't you little Door Mouse," a sinister female voice says.

"No one calls me Door Mouse," the defiant protagonist declares, as we see her taken away in chains, heading for the same auction. But has Mouse really met her end?

Gun shots, smashed objects and a chase sequence follow, with Mouse inflicting hell on these masked enemies. "Monsters are real and they walk among us," the trailer signs off.

Straight Outta Compton star Keith Powers, Blade's Donal Logue and X-Men actor Famke Janssen also star in the upcoming thriller.

Door Mouse is available on digital download from July 10.
