A health clinic opening soon in Tarrant County will specialize in treating tinnitus and hearing loss.

Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, is a condition affecting about 14% of Americans. Tinnitus affects people of all ages and can result from exposure to high stress or noisy environments, as well as head trauma. An estimated 16% of Texas adults experience some level of hearing loss. Untreated hearing-related issues can increase social isolation and the risk of dementia, and decrease quality of life for the hearing impaired and their loved ones.

Tinnitus expert Dr. Beki Kellogg is bringing her treatment options to the Dallas-Fort Worth area with the opening of the Hope Hearing & Tinnitus Center on World Hearing Day on March 3.

“Dr. Kellogg, a Texas native and one of the country’s top tinnitus treatment experts, is returning home to provide patients with individualized treatment plans that go beyond what other practitioners provide when treating tinnitus,” a news release said.

This is the second location of Kellogg’s hearing improvement practice, which offers patients individualized treatment plans for hearing loss and tinnitus. The first Hope Hearing & Tinnitus Center in Iowa had four out of five patients reporting a 60% reduction in symptoms after one year of treatment. For more than 10 years, the center has been helping tinnitus patients reduce their symptoms with methods such as hearing therapy devices to retrain the brain to ignore the electrical signals being falsely perceived as sound.

The Hope Hearing & Tinnitus Center will open at 245 W St. Hwy 114, #120, Southlake.

“Proper and effective treatment is like physical therapy for the ears,” the press release said. “Just like a broken arm has to relearn how to perform its previous functions, Dr. Kellogg is teaching people how to hear again, without the distraction and unpleasantness of false audio signals.”
