Rihanna Reminds Us Why She’s Still the Queen of Street Style in an Explosion of Red

Mother is mothering! Rihanna stepped out in New York City on Sunday in a look that embraced this season’s hottest color.
Her monochromatic outfit included a Commes des Garçons T-shirt with bold white lettering printed across the front. The hemline of the top was twisted and tied to a draping swath of black fabric. Rihanna layered the look over a blazing red dress with a huge leg slit slashed on one side. She continued the red theme with some of her accessories, including transparent mesh scarlet opera gloves, then further coordinated with other black accents, including a Gucci horsebit bag and crystal wrap heeled sandals. To finish off the look, she added bedazzled shades and a bright red lip.
A$AP Rocky accompanied Rihanna on her venture out, with the rapper wearing a ribbed knit cardigan in navy blue with tapered black slacks and leather dress shoes.
The day before, Rihanna also stepped out in New York wearing another monochromatic ensemble in the form of an entirely icy blue fit. The look included a satin corset blouse with a ruffled tulle hemline and lacy sleeves, layered underneath a shaggy fur shawl from Tom Ford’s Fall 2004 Gucci collection. For the bottom half of her fit, she added a pair of baggy cargo jeans from the Attico and pointed-toe pumps by Amina Muaddi. Rihanna accessorized with another Gucci by Tom Ford piece—an evening bag covered in layers of champagne beads—and oval-shaped sunglasses from Gianfranco Ferre.
