Rihanna Embraces Her Wild Side in a Golden Pony-Hair Gown

Rihanna is no stranger to wild thoughts, and much less so to wild fashion. After all, she once bared her baby bump while modeling for a Louis Vuitton campaign, delivered some of the best maternity street-style to date, and shut down last year’s Met Gala in a dramatic white Maison Valentino gown with a long, sweeping train. Oh, and that was all in the same year.

RiRi’s MUA says this red lipstick has “the same classic yet modern beauty of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs.”

To keep her streak going, Rihanna made an exotic entrance to a Fenty Beauty launch party this Friday in Los Angeles. Stepping out in lace-up gladiator heels, the style icon wore a strapless midi dress resembling a faux animal hide, custom-made by Alexander McQueen. Pony hair details appealed to the ensemble’s natural instincts, while a sweetheart neckline accentuated RiRi’s choice to go sans necklace.

Still, it wouldn’t be a Rihanna outfit without bling. The musician, assisted by her longtime stylist, Jahleel Weaver, paired the pale yellow dress with gold layered bracelets and a large ring—all encrusted with diamonds. She also matched her hair to the ensemble, wearing her blonde tresses straightened with a Y2K-esque side bang. Her makeup, undoubtedly Fenty Beauty, consisted of shimmery gold eyeshadow and brown lip liner.

At the launch party, the entrepreneur celebrated the release of her makeup brand’s new Soft’lit Naturally Luminous Longwear Foundation. On Saturday, Rihanna took to Instagram to try out her latest product. “This is what we’ve been up to the last couple years. And now she’s all yours…Soft‘Lit Naturally Luminous Foundation,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s hydrating, long wear and packed with skin-loving ingredients! And you DAMN RIGHT it’s coming in all 50 shades!!”
