The Righteous Gemstones season 4 starts production
The fourth season of The Righteous Gemstones has officially started production.
The popular HBO series follows the Gemstone family of televangelists in the US — namely Eli (John Goodman) and his children Jesse (Danny McBride), Judy (Edi Patterson) and Kelvin (Adam DeVine).
Almost a year after a fourth season was confirmed, the show's production company Rough House Pictures has taken to Instagram to reveal that filming is now underway.
Alongside an image of a clapperboard for the new season, the post read: "We Are So Back. Shooting season 4 HAS BEGUN!"

Ahead of season three's anticipated finale in July 2023, fans were pleased to learn that the show would be returning for another instalment.
"Get ready for more of the hilarious adrenaline ride that is The Righteous Gemstones," said executive vice president of HBO Programming and head of HBO & Max Comedy Series Amy Gravitt (via Deadline).
"As this truly biblical season comes to a close on Sunday night, I am delighted to announce that we are picking up a fourth season."
Season three saw the Gemstone siblings cross paths with a terrifying militia called The Brothers of Tomorrow's Fires, with the trio getting more than they bargained for.

The Righteous Gemstones also stars Cassidy Freeman as Jesse's wife Amber Gemstone, Tim Baltz as Judy's fiancé BJ Barnes, Tony Cavalero as Kelvin's roommate Keefe Chambers and Greg Alan Williams as Eli's right-hand man Martin Imari.
The show has seen some big names in guest roles across its three seasons, including Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, singer Joe Jonas and Asteroid City actor Jason Schwartzman.
New cast additions for season three included The White Lotus' Steve Zahn, True Detective's Stephen Dorff, Fast & Furious' Shea Wigham and Mom's Kristen Johnston.
The series began in 2019 to a positive critical reception, with the second season following nearly three years later in 2022.
The Righteous Gemstones streams on Max in the US and NOW in the UK. Season 4 doesn't have a release date yet.
