Ridgewood Local Schools names new middle school principal

WEST LAFAYETTE — Ridgewood Local Schools has announced Shawn Miller as the new principal of Ridgewood Middle School, starting Aug. 1.

He replaces Bryan Raach, who has been appointed as director of student services for the district.

Miller's career spans 23 years in the field of education, with contributions at Tusky Valley and Strasburg school districts. His background includes roles within Strasburg Leadership and PBIS teams, demonstrating his commitment to fostering positive school environments and student success, according to a news release from the Ridgewood district.

It also includes teaching middle school social studies and technology to serving as a Project Lead the Way instructor and intervention specialist for the past 15 years. He has also played a role in teaching leadership classes to high school students.

In the release, Superintendent Mike Masloski described Miller as a servant leader known for his collaborative approach and unwavering commitment to the growth and well-being of others. His vision for Ridgewood Middle School is centered on building a culture of high expectations, with a focus on student-centric practices, consistency, and active listening.

"His exemplary leadership qualities, coupled with his genuine passion for student and staff development, make him the ideal candidate to lead our school into a bright future," Masloski continued. "We are confident that under his guidance, Ridgewood Middle School will continue to thrive as a hub of academic excellence and personal growth."
