Richland driver dies after crashing into side of overpass on Interstate 182

A 24-year-old Richland driver died after losing control of his pickup on Interstate 182 and crashing into the side of an overpass about 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Dylan Goolsby was heading west in his Ford Ranger on the highway and had just passed the exit for Wellsian Way in Richland when he lost control, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The truck then hit the overpass. Goolsby, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role.

Benton County Coroner Bill Leach said officials are waiting to determine whether an autopsy is necessary.
