What are the three issues that you see as most important to your district and what will you do to address them?

Medicaid expansion, medical marijuana, pistol permit repeal.

At a time when costs are rising, state government has a surplus. How should it be used?

We should always ensure that we have rainy day fund to help fund the government when there is a deficit. But if there is a sufficient surplus we should give that back to the citizens.

Will you vote for Medicaid expansion in North Carolina?

Yes.

What has the legislature gotten right, and what has it gotten wrong, about public education in North Carolina?

Right: pistol permit repeal, voter ID. Wrong: HB2, not passing medical marijuana and Medicaid expansion.

Should North Carolina change its abortion laws? How?

The current state law banning abortion after 20 weeks should remain.

The current law should stand with the exceptions for rape, incest and health of the mother.

Yes.

The curriculum should be taught as is with as little bias as possible.
