Ric Flair says he was 'disrespected' after being booted from Florida restaurant

Ric Flair took to social media telling fans to stay away from Florida restaurant after he was asked to leave.

WWE legend and Memphis native Ric Flair went to social media to tell everyone his thoughts on being kicked out of Gainesville's Piesanos Stone Fire Pizza restaurant over the weekend. Flair said he was disrespected more than he has ever been in his life by restaurant staff.

Why was Ric Flair kicked out of Piesanos pizzeria in Gainesville?

Flair and family members were dining at the Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza restaurant at 1250 W. University Ave. when the professional wrestler apparently was asked to leave.

He went on to urge his more than 2 million followers on social media to stay away from the restaurant on their next visit to Gainesville.

Piesanos co-owner Jerry Roberts said the "evidence was clear" but declined to offer an explanation as to why Flair was asked to leave the restaurant. He then sent a prepared statement via text message.

"We have reviewed video of the incident that took place recently at our restaurant. It is clear, our team worked in a professional manner to ensure the safety of guests and staff. We have thanked our team for their professionalism. We are proud of how they responded to this situation using and displaying our team values."

Richard Morgan Fliehr, known professionally as Ric Flair, is a 16-time W.W.E. World Champion and one of the most recognizable wrestlers in the world. Nicknamed the "Nature Boy," he is known for his flamboyant and flashy persona.

In his four-decade career, Flair, 75, has won seven N.W.A. World Heavyweight Championships, six W.C.W. World Heavyweight Championships, and two W.W.F. Championships. He is also a 21-time champion and the first W.C.W. World Heavyweight Champion.

He retired at the age of 73, headlining the final match with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo against Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. Comicbook reported that Flair suffered a heart attack during the match.

Why was Ric Flair in Gainesville?

According to Flair's Facebook, he was attending a graduation at the University of Florida. Flair posted a picture earlier in the day with his wife, Wendy Kidder, announcing that they were headed to Gainesville.

"Stylin’ And Profilin’ In Gator Blue! See You Soon @uflorida As Only We Can Look! Graduation 2024," he wrote.
