RESULTS ARE IN: Presenting the Patriot Ledger's Boys Hockey Midseason Player of the Year

The nominees were announced, thousands of votes were cast and the results are now in.

In our Midseason Boys Hockey Player of the Year poll, over 54,000 votes were submitted to support the 13 candidates.

The final race came down to two players – Weymouth's Jack Browning and Whitman-Hanson's Luke Tropeano. The two combined for over 31,000 votes, approximately 57 percent of the total ballot.

In the end, Browning (18,845 votes) outgained Tropeano (12,342 votes) to earn the honor.

The senior Browning also won the first Patriot Ledger Boys Hockey Player of the Week honor on Dec. 28 for putting home the OT winner in the Wildcats' season-opening win over Walpole. Weymouth He was also named a captain for the school's baseball team this spring.

Also receiving votes: Oliver Ames' Jack Corey (11,136 votes), Middleboro's James Joyce (6,944 votes), Norwell's Nolan Petrucelli (2,988 votes), Canton's Brendan Tourgee, Archbishop Williams' Ben Sylvester, Scituate's James Sullivan, Hingham's Travis Rugg, Hingham's Paul Dzavik, Duxbury's Chris Gillis, Silver Lake's Pat Murphy and Abington's Hunter Grafton.
