Las Palomas Restaurant
Las Palomas Restaurant closed in late December after 31 years of operation in southeast Salem.
A flier on the restaurant said the restaurant wanted to "express our deepest gratitude" for the community's support throughout the years. "Thank you for the amazing memories and being part of our journey," the flier concluded.
The restaurant was owned by Andres and Petra Gonzalez. The lowkey spot was known for serving large portions from its expansive menu and a signature margarita.

Perro Taquero
The Perro Taquero food truck moved back to Turner in early December.
Owner Gus Garcia announced the move on Facebook. The food truck had been in The Fussy Duck parking lot in south Salem since May.
The food truck is now located at the Lazy JM Cattle Co. feed lot and is the latest stationed outside of The Country Corner Gift Shop.
Gift shop owner Edie McNarie said she and her husband, Joe McNarie, had been thinking of making the back lot into a food cart pod for a while. They reached out to Garcia and he moved into the lot. Edie said the lot has room for two more carts. For more info, visit the shop or email shopthecountrycorner@gmail.com.
Garcia's menu includes a fairly wide variety of meats including carnitas, al pastor, cabeza (head meat), lengua (cow tongue), carne asada and more.

Redline Birria y Tacos
Redline Birria y Tacos is the second food truck and location of the Redline business.
Owners and couple Alejandro Soto and Alyssa Perez opened the first truck in June 2022. It was originally stationed at The Fussy Duck before moving to the Beehive Station.
The owners second food truck officially opened in mid-December next to Benjamins Jumpers, off of Lancaster Drive NE. Soto said he had chatted with the owners of Benjamins Jumpers, who had mentioned they had a spot for a food truck, allowing for Redline to eventually set up in the lot.
The second truck has most of the same options as the original one. The added "and tacos" to the truck name is to indicate an expanded menu. Soto said regulars who had enjoyed the truck before they switched to serving only birria were glad for the return of tacos.
"We are so grateful and blessed to have such amazing customers and many we love to consider as family," Perez said. "We are so thankful for the love and support people have for our food."
