A new restaurant is opening in downtown Sacramento, replacing Loyal Legion beer hall.

Citizen Capitol Craft House will celebrate its grand opening at 1201 J St. at 5 p.m. Friday, according to its social media post.

The pub will serve beer, wine, craft cocktails and food.

Loyal Legion officially closed in September 2023 after nearly a year in business.

What’s on the menu at new downtown Sacramento restaurant?

Along with beer and wine, Citizen Capitol Craft House will also serve handcrafted cocktails and cocktails on tap, according to its website.

Drink offerings include the Even Angels Go Bald, made with Angel’s Envy bourbon, Carpano Antica vermouth, Benedictine herbal liqueur, bitters and cherry wood smoke, and the Humming Bird, a cocktail with strawberry-infused Ford’s gin, Aperol, Campari and Dolin sweet vermouth.

The menu also has food options.

Guests can choose from small bites and appetizers including hot honey popcorn, salads, steak tartare and a cheese board.

Entrees include smoked Australian wagyu brisket and a quarter-pound smash burger.

When are Citizen Capitol Craft House open hours?

Citizen Capitol Craft House is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
