It's no joke when they say that kids change your life — all of the sudden you're a morning person and know all the characters on Bluey. Well kids can truly transform animals too. One woman was amazed by the change in her tabby cat, who did a complete 180 after she became a "mom" to her baby.

It's incredible how much the cat has changed since being taken in by the pet owner.

Footage of the cat and "her" baby show the kitty being so gentle. The two were playing around on the floor, hanging out side-by-side. The tabby followed the baby girl everywhere as the baby zoomed around playing with her toys.

You would never know that the worst almost happened to the cat because of its behavior.

"Our cat was on the euthanasia list for being aggressive," the pet owner wrote in the text overlay. "But she just wanted to be a mom."

Commenters were gushing over the cat's growth. "She’s like, 'this kitten seems odd but I’ll take it,'" joked one commenter. "She was probably devastated because her babies were gone. Now she has one," someone else wrote. "So sweet she stays right by the baby. We need to cherish the time we have with our fur-babies," another commenter pointed out. "I just literally bawled my frackin' eyes out to this….she finally got her baby, "admitted another person.

How Cats Take Care of Their Kittens

Despite being known for being aloof, cats are very devoted mothers to their young. When kittens are first born, they can't really see that well. So they depend on their senses to help lead them to their mamas to nurse. If a kitten is really having trouble, the mama cat will pull them close to her so they can feed.

In those first few days after birth, the mama cat will clean her kittens frequently. But it's not just for hygiene. It actually helps the kittens pass their waste. Speaking of waste, when the kittens are big enough, Mama Cat will teach them how to use the litter box too.

After giving birth, your cat might be a little feisty. That's maternal aggression and it's completely normal. A cat's hormones cause them to be very protective of their babies. But when you think about it, in the wild a cat would probably need to keep her helpless kittens safe.

So there you have it! If you're looking for a really good mama, you might want to consider your cat.
