Report: Oddsmakers Believe Aaron Rodgers Might Retire Next Week

Have we seen the last of Aaron Rodgers in a Green Bay Packers uniform? Oddsmakers certainly believe that’s possible.

On Friday night, Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated pointed out that Circa Sports updated its NFC North odds. The Packers are no longer considered the favorites to win the division, as the Minnesota Vikings currently have the best odds.

A sudden change in odds has led many to believe that Rodgers won’t be around for the 2021 season. FanDuel has added fuel to that fire, as its over/under win total for the Packers is currently at 9.5 wins.

Green Bay has won 13 games in back-to-back seasons with Rodgers in Matt LaFleur’s system. Why would the Packers see such a significant drop in their record with Rodgers on the roster? That doesn’t really make much sense.

To make matters worse, PointsBet told ProFootballTalk that it’s pulled its over/under win total for the Packers due to recent speculation that Rodgers may retire.

All these changes being made by oddsmakers don’t guarantee that Rodgers will retire in the coming weeks, but it’s definitely something to monitor.

If Adam Schefter’s recent report about the reigning NFL MVP is accurate, it would make sense that Rodgers retires from Green Bay.

“We’ll see how the Packers handle it, but the one thing I feel very comfortable and confident in saying is Aaron Rodgers does not want to play there anymore,” Schefter said a week ago.

Packers fans, do you think Rodgers will be back for the 2021 season?
