This past weekend, Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul went toe to toe in one of the most highly-anticipated exhibition matches in boxing history.

While there was plenty of controversy surrounding this match, like whether or not Mayweather held up Paul so the fight could go the distance, the ratings were still very high. In fact, Showtime is reporting that it had nearly 1 million pay-per-view buys.

Sportico has added to Showtime’s report, revealing that $50 million in revenue was generated from the Mayweather-Paul exhibition. That’s a strong number considering Paul is technically a YouTube star.

As for their percentage of the cut, Mayweather is expected to walk away from the fight with at least $35 million. It’s been reported that he was guaranteed $10 million and half of the pay-per-view haul.

Paul, meanwhile, will make at least $5 million from this exhibition. He’ll also get to say he fought one of the greatest boxers of all time.

After seeing how much money Mayweather will make from this exhibition, it makes sense why he called out his critics during his press conference on Sunday night.

“When it comes to legalized bank robbing, I’m the best,” Mayweather said. “I don’t care if you write good stories, I don’t care if you write bad stories, at the end of the day, I will always have the last laugh.”

Whether you love him or not, Mayweather has proven that he’s one of the best in the business at maximizing his profits without affecting his boxing record.
