After four NBA seasons – two with the LA Lakers and two with the New Orleans Pelicans – former No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball is slated to hit free agency. But by the looks of things, he may not be on the market for long.

According to Yahoo Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes, Lonzo Ball is expected to work out a deal with the Chicago Bulls. Per the report, the Pelicans are “going hard” after Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry – so they won’t need Lonzo anymore.

Lonzo Ball is coming off arguably the best season of his young career. This past season he averaged 14.6 points – a career high – along with 4.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.

He also improved with many of his crucial percentages. His averages on field goals, three-pointers, two-pointers, and free throws all reached career-highs.

Lonzo Ball was stellar in his first NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He earned All-Rookie Team honors after averaging 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game with 50 starts.

But injuries derailed his second season in LA, and after the 2018-19 he was traded to the Pelicans in the blockbuster Anthony Davis trade.

The last two years have seen Lonzo Ball enjoy a resurgence – even if he hasn’t reached the heights he was expected to.

If he goes to the Chicago Bulls, he could become an impact player in the Windy City very quickly.

Is Lonzo Ball a good fit for the Bulls?
