Report: Buccaneers Star Likely To Miss Week 3 Game
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be without one of their most reliable defensive players for a pivotal Week 3 showdown with the Los Angeles Rams. On Wednesday, outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul missed practice because of a shoulder injury.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that Pierre-Paul received a second opinion on his shoulder injury this week. The doctors recommended that he rest his shoulder until it heals.
This update from Rapoport makes sense considering Pierre-Paul posted a vague message on his Instagram account on Wednesday night.
“Only God knows da true meaning of setbacks,” Pierre-Paul wrote.”Let’s go get this news feedback.”
Tampa Bay hasn’t officially ruled out Pierre-Paul for Sunday’s game, but we’d imagine he’ll sit out in order to get his shoulder closer to 100 percent.
#Bucs LB Jason Pierre-Paul had a second opinion on his shoulder and rest was the recommendation, source said. While no firm determination has been made, that likely leaves JPP inactive this week to heal up.

Pierre-Paul has played 138 snaps through the first two games, so there’s a lot of playing time up for grabs if he’s unable to suit up on Sunday.
Anthony Nelson is listed as the primary backup to Pierre-Paul on Tampa Bay’s depth chart. However, there’s no guarantee that he’ll have a huge role against the Rams.
The Buccaneers could decide to unleash rookie outside linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka. He looked exceptional in the preseason and has even flashed his potential at times during the first two weeks of the regular season.
