Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa gets benched.

The Miami Dolphins shocked the NFL world on Monday by firing head coach Brian Flores. It was a surprising move considering he had back-to-back winning seasons.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Miami made this move in large part because Flores had a deteriorating relationship with general manager Chris Grier and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

On Tuesday morning, Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel had an update on Flores’ alleged rift with Tagovailoa.

According to Hyde’s latest report, Flores and Tagovailoa had a shouting match in the locker room at one point this season.

Tagovailoa claimed that Flores “doesn’t know how to talk to people.” Flores, meanwhile, said he needed “better f—ing play” from his quarterback.

If this shouting match actually happened, it may explain why Dolphins owner Stephen Ross no longer saw Flores as a “healthy fit” in Miami.

Despite his fallout with the Dolphins, Flores remains an appealing coach for this year’s cycle. He has already scheduled an interview with the Chicago Bears, and they might not be the only team that’ll show interest in him for their job vacancy.

As for Tagovailoa, there will be a lot of pressure on him to have a breakout season in 2022.
