The MLB trade deadline is less than 48 hours away and there’s been plenty of movement this week. But with Colorado Rockies star shortstop Trevor Story available, several prominent teams appear to be lining up to get him.

According to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, the market for Story has picked up since Tuesday. Among the most interested clubs he identified are the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants.

The Yankees have been mentioned at least in passing for just about every prominent player on the market this month. But the Giants have pretty big ambitions too, reportedly eyeing Story as well as four-time All-Star Kris Bryant.

Story isn’t exactly having the best season of his career though, and the Rockies are out of playoff contention. This year he has 78 hits, 47 runs, 46 RBIs and a .240 batting average.

Over the past five years though, Trevor Story has been a quickly-rising star in Major League Baseball. He finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting in 2016 and made his first All-Star Games in 2018.

Between 2018 and 2019, Story had 347 hits, 199 runs, 80 doubles, 193 RBIs and .293 batting average. He made two All-Star appearances, won two Silver Slugger awards and finishing top-12 in MVP voting both years.

But it appears that Story’s time with the Colorado Rockies is nearly over. Whether he finishes the rest of the year on a team making a World Series run or trying to get into the playoffs remains to be seen.

Where do you think Trevor Story will wind up?
