Deshaun Watson has been mentioned in countless trade rumors over the past few months. With the Nov. 2 trade deadline approaching very soon, there’s a chance the Houston Texans will finally part ways with the Pro Bowl quarterback.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans could have a trade that would send Watson to the Miami Dolphins done by this week.

“The Texans could finally be getting closer to trading quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Miami Dolphins — a team they play Nov. 7,” McClain wrote, via the Houston Chronicle. “Even though the NFL trading deadline isn’t until Nov. 2, a deal could go down this week, according to people familiar with the negotiations.”

Miami has been mentioned as the primary destination for Watson for several months. Last week, ESPN insiders Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano reported that Miami would have probably acquired the star quarterback already if his civil lawsuits never emerged.

Watson is facing 22 civil lawsuits by women accusing him of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior. His playing career is currently up in the air because of his legal situation.

McClain reported that Houston and Miami have discussed a Watson trade for months. Texans general manager Nick Caserio wants three first-round draft picks and two second-round picks in return for Watson.

Last season, Watson had 4,823 passing yards and 33 touchdowns for the Texans. When he’s available, there aren’t many quarterbacks in the league as productive as him.

Regardless of his status for the 2021 season, a blockbuster trade involving Watson would rock the NFL world.
