Rena Sofer’s Lois Returns to General Hospital After 26 Years — Watch Her First Scene (Exclusive)

It’s the General Hospital comeback nearly three decades in the making.

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, Rena Sofer reprises her Daytime Emmy-winning role as Lois Cerullo after a 26 year absence — and we have your exclusive first look at the character’s Port Charles reappearance.

As you can see in the above clip from Tuesday’s episode, Lois’ return catches both daughter Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and ex mother-in-law-from-hell Tracy (Jane Elliott) by complete surprise.

After getting hit with a mini-barrage of insults from Tracy, Lois explains that she high-tailed it out of Bensonhurst as soon as she heard the news that her beloved “Brookie” had been fired from her high-profile gig at Deception Cosmetics. Brook Lynn wastes no time letting her mom know that the evil mastermind who sent the pink-slip ball rolling was none other than, yep, her wicked grandmother (aka Tracy).

Cue the fireworks.

Lois’ return comes as ex-husband Ned (played by Sofer’s real-life ex-hubby Wally Kurth) deals with a bout of amnesia. He’s convinced that he’s Eddie Maine, his rock-star alter ego from the ’90s. Ned’s current wife, Olivia — who was initially devastated about ‘losing’ Ned — has now found herself falling for Eddie.

As longtime GH fans will recall, Lois initially took a liking to Eddie, unaware of his true identity. The pair wed in 1995, but the honeymoon phase ended once Lois found out that Ned was also married to Mary Beth Evans’ Katherine Bell. (Ned eventually won back (and remarried) Lois, but the on-again/off-again couple divorced a second time when Ned chose his family (and their fortune) over her.

Afterward, Lois skipped town and gave birth to their daughter, Brook Lynn.

Lois resurfaced seven years later, when she was played by Lesli Kay. The character was last seen in 2005.

It’s not clear how long Sofer’s Lois will be sticking around PC, although a GH source tells TVLine it’s “a nice run.”
