Reese Witherspoon Shuts Down Red Carpet in First Public Appearance Since Split From Husband
Reese Witherspoon made a glowing appearance at the premiere of The Last Thing He Told Me yesterday evening.
The actress arrived at the Bruin Regency Theatre in Westwood, California, in a one-shoulder little black dress. The semi-sheer piece featured an abstract leopard-like design made up of shiny black appliqués contrasted by small cutouts throughout. She paired the mini with pointy black pups with striped cutouts by Aquazzura, and accessorized simply with gold hoop earrings embellished with pearls and various gold rings from TASAKI’s Danger collection, featuring spiky pearls and fangs.
The actress’s hair was styled into silky waves and swept to one side. For makeup, she wore rosy blush and a shimmering eyeshadow.
Witherspoon's attendance at the Apple TV+ series premiere marks her first public Hollywood outing since she announced her split from her second husband, Jim Toth.
"We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce," they said in a joint statement posted on Instagram this March. "We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together."
The two began dating in early 2010 and got engaged that same year. They married several months later, in March 2011, at their private ranch in California. Witherspoon's children from her previous marriage to Ryan Phillippe took on special roles for the occasion: Daughter Ava Phillippe served as the maid of honor, and son Deacon Phillippe was the ring bearer. In September 2012, Toth and Witherspoon welcomed their first and only child together, son Tennessee James Toth.
