Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern Suffer a 'Skirt Emergency' in Matching Glittery Outfits

Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern made the best of a "skirt emergency" during a recent holiday party.
The two showed up to the event, hosted by Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott—the latter of whom thanked them for coming to "a magical night" in the comments—wearing the exact same outfits, and based on the name tags slapped across their chests, it doesn't appear to have been on purpose.
While the Legally Blonde star opted for black pumps and a silver glittery clutch and the Jurassic Park alum went for red, they each wore the same cream-colored sweater over the same silver, sparkling maxi skirt.
"Spreading Holiday joy ... it's exhausting 😂🎄💫💗," Witherspoon wrote alongside a pair of photos from their festive evening, the first of which showed the two posing in their matching outfits, with drinks in hand, in front of the tree of Deschanel's "dreams."
In the second photo, the two looked to be completely wiped out as they stood outside with their heels in their hands.
"Holidaying takes a lot out of you," Scott joked in response.
Dern played more into their fashion faux pas on her account, sharing a photo of Witherspoon speaking adamantly into an old-fashioned rotary phone as she looked on with glee.
"Listen, I said get Santa on the horn, STAT. We’ve got a skirt emergency 🚨," she joked in the caption.
"Is this how we start season 3? I need more Madeline and Renata in my life," one fan wanted to know.
"Calling Santa to wish for a new SEASON 3 of BIG LITTLE LIES?!?!?" said another.
Nicole Kidman seemed to confirm that another season of the hit series was in the works, dropping, "And we will be bringing you a third one, just FYI,” during a recent interview, though no additional information has come to light so far.
It certainly would be a Merry Christmas to learn more!
