This Is Ree Drummond’s Favorite Thing to Make for Dessert

The dessert Ree Drummond most loves to share is… her cherry-pineapple Pioneer Woman dump cake, according to a 2018 issue of The Pioneer Woman. No surprise there!

The combination of tropical pineapple and sweet cherries is a winner any time of year. The flavors make sense together in our classic Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, so why not put ’em together in a dump cake?

How to Make Pioneer Woman Dump Cake

You can easily make this treat at home. In fact, it only takes about 10 minutes to prep.

To start, dump a 21-ounce can of cherry pie filling and a 15-ounce can of crushed pineapple into a 9″x13″ baking dish and mix together. (Yup, that’s how this cake earned its name.) Then, sprinkle a box of yellow or cake mix over the fruit. Top with 1-1/2 sticks of sliced or melted butter.

Bake at 350° F until the top is golden brown, which should take 45 minutes to an hour. And don’t forget the whipped cream or ice cream on the side!

You’ll never guess Ree’s favorite childhood meal. Hint: It involves noodles.

It’s Not Healthy, But Is Is Delicious

In the original recipe post on The Pioneer Woman, Ree concedes that this dessert is full of fat, sugar and processed ingredients, but no one expects dessert to be healthy. And everyone can agree that dump cake recipes are as delicious as they’re easy to make!
