The Reds release their spring training schedule

During spring training, the Reds will televise five games on Bally Sports Ohio. The television schedule begins with the spring training opener on Feb. 24 against the Cleveland Guardians, and the Reds also have four games broadcast on MLB Network.

Emilio Pagán coming back from injury

Reds reliever Emilio Pagán dealt with a sports hernia injury during the offseason and won’t start the Cactus League on time when the spring training game schedule begins on Feb. 24.

“He had a surgery a couple months ago,” Reds manager David Bell said. “He’ll be right behind (the other guys). Just not at the very beginning.”

Reds reliever Sam Moll (shoulder) said that he’s progressing well, but he’s a week-and-a-half to two weeks behind. “The last few days have been the best my arm has felt,” Moll said. “As we go forward, I’m hopeful that continues. I’m playing catch every day. It’s just moderating the intensity of each day and being smart about it even though my brain wants to tell me to go, go, go.”

Reds starting pitcher Graham Ashcraft (toe) is throwing a live bullpen against hitters on Saturday, and Bell said that Ashcraft will be good to go for the start of the Cactus League schedule. Starting pitcher Nick Lodolo (tibia) has a bullpen scheduled on Saturday, and Bell said that the Reds will know more after today.
