A 'Red, White & Royal Blue' Sequel Is Officially in the Works

The core of Red, White & Royal Blue is a love story, so at the end of both the movie and the book it's based on, Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz live happily ever after.

But of course, we want more, and since the film dropped in summer 2023, we've been wondering: Will there be a sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue? The answer, thankfully is "yes"! Amazon MGM confirmed in May 2024 that a second film is in development. Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez will both reprise their roles as Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz. Matthew López will write the script with Casey McQuiston, the Red, White & Royal Blue author.

McQuiston has not ruled out a possible Red, White & Royal Blue sequel in book format, so it's exciting they will be working on the film. "I will say that I have plenty of ideas for stories set in this world and would love a chance to explore one of them some day. I would be surprised if you've seen the last of Alex and Henry," they told Hello. The collector's edition of Red, White & Royal Blue features an all new Prince Henry-POV chapter set a few years after the events of the book, so if you're looking for a glimpse into their future, we recommend checking that out.
