Reba McEntire's soul singer Asher HaVon wins 'The Voice' Season 25: What you need to know

Country Music Hall of Famer, Golden Globe-nominated actress and Oklahoma native Reba McEntire can add winning "The Voice" coach and Grand Ole Opry dream maker to her storied resume after Tuesday's "The Voice" Season 25 finale.

Team Reba's Alabama soul singer Asher HaVon, 31, was named the winner of "The Voice" at the end of the two-hour finale episode.

"Thank you for giving me such a safe place to be my authentic self," HaVon told McEntire just before he was named the victor. "Thank you for making me believe in myself, and I promise you I will never let you down."

In her second season as a coach on "The Voice," Reba was guaranteed her first win in the final moments of Season 25: Her North Carolina country singer Josh Sanders finished in second place.

Competing on John Legend's team, Bryan Olesen, who performed with the Christian rock band The Newsboys from 2004-2006, finished in third place.

What did Reba McEntire perform on 'The Voice' finale?

After debuting her scorching new ballad "I Can't" earlier this month on "The Voice," Reba took the stage during Tuesday's live finale to perform with her two finalists.

Reba and HaVon joined their powerhouse voices on Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald's chart-topping 1986 duet "On My Own."

"I have seen you grow. I have seen you change, not (in) any way of your personality or your talent, but in your happiness," McEntire told HaVon just before he was declared the winner. "I know you’ve had such a great time here on 'The Voice,' and everybody has had a wonderful time with you, especially me."

She and Sanders put their shared faith on center stage with their moving duet on Reba's 2017 hit "Back to God," featuring Lauren Daigle, from the country icon's Grammy-winning gospel album "Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope.”

"What an honor it was to perform alongside Josh and praise the Lord!" Reba posted on X (formerly Twitter) after the performance.

Reba surprises Lainey Wilson with Grand Ole Opry invitation

Along with "The Voice" coaches doing duets with their finalists, the Season 25 finale included performances by music stars like The Black Keys, Jelly Roll, Kate Hudson, Muni Long, Thomas Rhett, Gina Miles and Lainey Wilson.

After Wilson performed her rollicking new song "Hang Tight Honey," Reba delivered a special surprise for the recently crowned Academy of Country Music Awards entertainer of the year: an invitation to officially join the Grand Ole Opry.

“Lainey, I am so proud of you. You did a wonderful job. I have heard that I have inspired you in what you have done so far, and I am thrilled to death if I have had anything to do with your career, because you are blowing it up,” Reba told Wilson.

“I was so proud of you at the ACMs the other night and I couldn’t be more proud to be the one that helps you continue to bridge the gap between our generations. I’d like to be the person to invite you to become an official member of the Grand Ole Opry.”

Both women were visibly emotional as Reba presented Wilson with a custom-made belt buckle emblazoned with the words “Opry Lainey 2024,” as they were getting a standing ovation from the other "The Voice" coaches and audience.

"It's so crazy that you're asking me to be a member, because I look up to you so much. I'm not talking about just musically, but the way that you carry yourself and your work ethic. You inspire me every day," Wilson told Reba.

Wilson will be inducted into the legendary Nashville, Tennessee, institution and make her first appearance as an Opry member June 7.

Reba McEntire is returning to NBC with 'The Voice' and her new sitcom 'Happy's Place'

Fans can expect to see Reba back on NBC at least three days a week starting in autumn: The "Queen of Country" is coming back to "The Voice" for Season 26.

The Oklahoma native, who initially joined "The Voice" coaching panel last year for its Season 24, will be back on the Emmy-winning series next season alongside fellow returning coach (and Sooner State transplant) Gwen Stefani and coaching newcomers Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé.

Billed as the most-watched alternative series, “The Voice” will return for its 26th season in fall, with the hit singing competition airing from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays and 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays on NBC. The show's Season 26 premiere date has not yet been announced.

Reba also will be on NBC starting in the fall as the star of her upcoming sitcom "Happy's Place," which will co-star Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Reba's actor boyfriend and fellow Oklahoman Rex Linn.

The new show stars Reba as Bobbie, who inherits her father’s Tennessee bar, Happy's Place, when he dies. Her character is less than thrilled when she learns she has a new business partner: the younger half-sister she never knew she had, played by "Blue Beetle" star Escobedo.

Although the sitcom's premiere date has yet to be revealed, NBC recently announced that "Happy's Place" will debut as part of the 2024 fall schedule. The show is set to air at 7 p.m. Fridays on the network.
