Reba McEntire adds to her record by returning to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time
This spring, Oklahoma native and entertainment icon Reba McEntire will host the Academy of Country Music Awards for the 17th time.
The Country Music Hall of Famer, who hails from Chockie, was announced Thursday as the host of the 59th ACM Awards, set to stream live May 16 from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The show will stream exclusively for a global audience across 240 countries and territories on Prime Video.

Reba has hosted the ACM Awards more than anyone else
Reba also will take the ACM Awards stage for a special performance featuring new music, according to the announcement.
“I am tickled to pieces to get to host the ACM Awards for the 17th time," Reba said in a statement. "What an honor to have been part of the past, present and now the future of the Academy of Country Music with Amazon Prime Video."
The multitalented entertainer boasts an impressive record of 16 ACM Award wins and nine nominations for the prestigious ACM Entertainer of the Year, including a win in 1994. She also has the most nominations for Female Artist of the Year.
Plus, Reba has hosted the ACM Awards more than anyone else. When she emceed the awards show for the 16th time back in 2019, Billboard reported that Reba's ACM Awards run already was "by far the most times anyone has helmed a major music awards show."
Recently honored with the lifetime achievement award at Oklahoma City's Western Heritage Awards, Reba's run as ACM Awards host is just two away from Bob Hope’s Oscars hosting record. The legendary entertainer, who died in 2003, hosted the Academy Awards 19 times between 1940 and 1978.
Who is nominated for this year's ACM Awards?
Luke Combs leads the 59th ACM Awards nominees with eight nods, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Single of the Year, plus Music Event of the Year alongside Riley Green for their song “Different ‘Round Here.”
Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen each earned six nominations, followed by Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson with five nominations each.
Jelly Roll garnered four ACM Awards nominations, as did "Buy Dirt" hitmaker Jordan Davis. Kelsea Ballerini nabbed three nods.
Likewise, Oklahoman Zach Bryan, who hails from Oologah, received three ACM Awards nominations, for Artist-Songwriter of the Year and received nominations as artist and producer for Music Event of the Year for “I Remember Everything," his Grammy-winning duet with Kacey Musgraves.
Brooks & Dunn, Maddie & Tae and Kylie Morgan also are among the nominees with Oklahoma ties for the 59th ACM Awards.
