Real estate taxes due April 30 for Codington County property owners

Codington County property owners have until April 30 to pay the 2023 first-half real estate or mobile home taxes due in 2024.

Failure to do so will incur a penalty of 10% interest added to delinquent payment.

The 2023 taxes can be paid between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the county treasurer’s office located on the first floor of the courthouse. Payments may also be mailed to the treasurer’s office but must be postmarked no later than April 30.

Property owners are encouraged to mail tax payments early to allow for processing. The post office only postmarks mail until 5:30 p.m. A receipt will be returned if the sender encloses a stamped self-addressed envelope.

Codington County property owners may pay online by going to https://www.codington.org/treasurer/.

A payment though govtechtaxpro will include a convenience fee of 3%. Users can pay all their parcels by e-check for an additional $2.

To use an e-check and pay the lower fee, make sure to select electronic check on the payment information section when checking out.
