NEW BEDFORD — The Whale's Tail is set to reopen at Pier 3, behind Mirasol's Café, on Friday, May 3.

Nestled in the bustling Fisherman’s Wharf, The Whale’s Tail is a small seafood haven that offers a taste of summer all year round. Opened in 2020, by Black Whale owner Steve Silverstein, this clam bar quickly gained a following for its delicious fried seafood dishes and refreshing drinks.

Location and Hours

Conveniently located beside The Black Whale restaurant, The Whale’s Tail is situated at Pier 3 in Fisherman’s Wharf. They are currently open for the season with their new hours being: Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Delicious seafood delights

The Whale’s Tail is best known for its fried seafood dishes that are cooked to perfection.

Their menu reflects classic New England favorites such as clam chowder, clam cakes, and fish and chips. But they also offer a twist on traditional dishes, such as a fried clam strip roll, calamari with hot cherry peppers, and a tuna poke with a pineapple-ginger-soy dressing.
