Get Ready, ‘Cobra Kai’ Fans: Season 5 Finally Has a Premiere Date

Attention all Cobra Kai fans! Netflix just announced the official release date for the highly anticipated fifth season, where we'll be in an epic showdown between a valley of full dojos.

Keep scrolling for details about Cobra Kai season five.

1. When does ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5 premiere?

Last week, Netflix released the first trailer for Cobra Kai season five, along with a date announcement. So, how long do we have to wait for the new season? Based on the teaser, it looks it won't be too long, since the new installment will hit the platform on September 9, 2022.

2. Who’s in ‘Cobra Kai’?

The series stars Ralph Macchio (Daniel), William Zabka (Johnny), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel), Tanner Buchanan (Robby), Peyton List (Tory), Courtney Henggeler (Amanda), Mary Mouser (Samantha), Jacob Bertrand (Eli) and Gianni Decenzo (Demetri).

3. What is ‘Cobra Kai’ about?

Just to give a quick rundown, Cobra Kai is based on The Karate Kid film series. The show takes place 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. In the present day, Daniel is struggling to live without the guidance of his old teacher, Mr. Miyagi. But in contrast, Johnny’s life has been on a downward spiral since losing the tournament. In an attempt to redeem himself, he decides to re-open the Cobra Kai studio and teach a new generation of students.

4. Is there a trailer for ‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5?

Yes, there is! The streaming service recently released a short teaser (which can be viewed above) that gives fans a small (and we mean very small) glimpse at what’s to come in the new season. The trailer starts at the 51st Annual All Valley Karate Championship, where team Cobra Kai won the competition.

Now, it seems the dojo studio has decided to close up shop. But, there appears to be a new dojo in town, which causes Daniel LaRusso (Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (Zabka) to come out of retirement. And, it looks like the Cobra Kai empire may be ready to expand, being that they seek the help of an old rival—Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto)—who first appeared in the third season.
